Cervical Screening / Smear Tests

This service is offered to all female patients aged 25 to 64 years. Women aged 25-49 years are called for screening at three yearly intervals, and women aged 50-64 years are called every 5 years; or more frequently of required. Eligible patients will receive letters from the Regional Screening Service and a final reminder from the practice. Cervical screening is strongly recommended. 

If however you do not wish to have a smear test, you should inform us, so that your records can be amended. 

Patients will be contacted to inform them of the result of their smear, and advised when they should make their next appointment.
